Hello and a very warm welcome to my website
My name is Damian, and I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in East London. Some of the areas I cover include Canning Town, Plaistow, Bethnal Green and Stratford. My own experience of being in therapy helped me to realise that in the past, I spent so much time searching for acceptance from others. I often felt rejected when I believed that they did not accept me. What I failed to realise then, is that acceptance starts with accepting one’s self.
If I do not accept who I am as a person, how am I going to receive and even trust being accepted by others? I understand that not being your authentic-self may leave you feeling frustrated, angry, guilty and trapped. I can help you to start living a life of being true to yourself and to feel comfortable with communicating your needs. To learn more about how I can help you, click here. As Brené Brown put it...
"Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others."
In therapy, we can work together to help you:
- Building confidence, self-worth, and self-esteem
- Understanding patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that may feel overwhelming or unhelpful
- Exploring and working through relationship difficulties to create more clarity and connection
- Developing ways to manage stress and anxiety so they feel less consuming in daily life
- Finding safer, more supportive ways to cope if you are struggling with self-harm
- Exploring healthier ways of responding to anger when it arises
- Processing grief and loss following bereavement and other significant life changes
- Working through identity-related challenges and developing a stronger sense of self
- Making sense of guilt and shame in a supportive, non-judgemental space

"I worked with Damian for over two years and it's honestly one of the best decisions I've made. I came in dealing with a mix of stress, anxiety and some specific things I needed to work through, and I leave feeling genuinely clearer headed and more settled than I have in a long time.
What stood out about Damian is how personable he is - he has a real ability to relate to you as a person, not just as a client. He's thoughtful and perceptive without ever putting words in your mouth, and he helped me arrive at my own answers, which meant the progress actually felt like mine. Not once did I feel judged.
If you're on the fence about therapy, I'd say go. And if you're looking for someone to trust with it, I wouldn't hesitate to point you towards Damian."
